yes another rant from me on remakes...this time I just read that Warner Bros are greenlighting a remake of Enter the Dragon. It was Bruce Lee's last movie.
Now why??? Why? Number one there is no one like Bruce Lee around now and could hardly fill his shoes and this movie is iconic because of him. Just stop it Hollywood and stop it now. Why can't you re-release these movies onto the big screen.
Remakes that irritate me:
The Women (1939)
How to Marry a Millionaire (1953)
Clash of the Titans (1981)
Escape from New York(1981)
and now add Enter the Dragon which is going to be renamed Awake the Dragon.
I am still not sure how thrilled I am over Rob Zombie remaking Halloween too..the thing about the original is that is scares the crap out of you with no gore. None. Watch it...there is hardly any blood....great stuff...and Rob Zombie is known for his gore and I am scared he has packed his Halloween full of it. Though I do concede casting Malcolm McDowell as Dr. Loomis is a brilliant piece of casting. |
